Sarapınar is a director making image-driven work across film, music, and brand.

Sara is a filmmaker based in Austin, TX, who grew up in Ankara, Turkey. Her latest short film En Mi Alma premiered at the 2019 Austin Film Festival. Currently she is supporting the post production of Alakadar, a feature film she produced in the summer of 2019. She is also working towards completing her MFA in Film and Media Production at the University of Texas at Austin, where she is in development on her thesis narrative short film Charette.

Prior to joining UT, she worked for the United Nations Development Program and the United Nations High Commissioners for Refugees. She holds a BA in International Relations from Bilkent University and an MSC in Development Studies from Lund University, where she was awarded full scholarship from the Swedish Institute. Her work focused on urban gentrification and renewal projects in Istanbul.
